Sears Vantage has a great program to return kids clothes for any reason as long as they still wear them! I shopped the Nordstrom Anniversary last May for school clothes for four kids. Within six months the boys jeans had fallen apart torn across the front and wear spots showed rather fast...and the jeans still fit our high schooler----do not expect Nordstrom to exchange them. I was offered a patching service starting at 25.00. The jeans went into the trash!

Does anyone know if the program applies to clothes that are stained? Or does it have to be physically falling apart?

I've been using the program for a couple years now. I have 2 boys and they go through the knees pretty quickly. Sears has exchanged the jeans every time, I do keep the receipts and label the clothing items so that I can identify them later. Today I'm hoping to exchange my son's sneakers that have worn out. The program covers shoes, too! (And these are Sketchers!)

Toughskins ARE covered by the Wear Out program, as that is a Sears brand; but the Levi's brand may not be. In-store Lands' End kids purchases are also credited toward the KidVantage discount.

I tried to return jeans with holes in the knees and no cashier in the store knew anything about the KidVantage program. I told them to read about it on the back of my receipts. They called a manager and the manager would not exchange the jeans because they weren't Levis or Lees. The back of the receipt specifically mentions that a receipt is needed for Lee and Levis. Why it says that I am not sure because a receipt is needed for any returns. The jeans I wanted to exchange were the Sears brand Toughskins. The manager said if they had been Lee and Levis she would have done it.

I am going to print out info from the Sears website and bring it with me to another store and try again.

I signed up for this a few years back when the clerk asked me if I wanted to enroll while I was purchasing some clothes for my oldest son. I asked what the catch was and she said nothing and it was free. So what the heck I thought. I have returned 2 pairs of pants that had holes in the knees and 3 shirts that frayed at the wrist or neck no questions asked. I have 2 younger boys that dont abuse their clothing as badly as their older brother but once they start you bet I am purchasing form sears. =)

I've heard about this from a girlfriend with boys who swore by this program. I am planning to sign up the next time I'm at the mall, as my son is starting to enter the phase of holes in the knees in every pair of pants that he owns. It's very frustrating. I'm hoping this will help us save some money! Thanks for the link.

I'm sure that they will not ask for proof, but they may ask for your childs age. You could call first and ask.
