No Worker Left Behind (NWLB) provides up to two years worth of free tuition (up to $5,000 per year) at any community college, university, or other approved training provider to gain the skills and credentials for new careers in high-demand occupations, emerging industries, or to start a business.
To be eligible, you must be either unemployed, received a notice of termination or layoff from employment, or have a family income of less than $40,000 per year. Participants must be at least 18 years old who have not graduated from high school in the last two years and are not full-time college students.
To sign up you must visit your local Michigan Works! Service Center. To find an office near you visit their website at www.michiganworks.org or call 1-800-285-WORK (9675).
