Compared to Thanksgiving dinner, Turkey Roll-ups are a cheap and easy way to create the same flavors. Serve with easy to make side dishes and you have a Thanksgiving dinner for any day of the week. Looking for a sweet and healthy treat to serve up with this meal? Just scroll down.
Turkey Roll-ups
4 slices Deli Turkey Breast
One box stuffing mix
Can of turkey gravy (or make your own)
Make stuffing as directed on the box. Spoon equal amounts of stuffing onto each slice of turkey, then roll up. Place the roll-ups in a greased baking dish and pour gravy over top. Cover and bake at 350 degrees for about a 1/2 hour, or until gravy is bubbling.
Serve with instant potatoes, green beans and bread with butter to keep this dinner super easy. Serves 4
Weight Watcher Muffins
1 Box Cake Mix (I prefer Spice cake but you can use pumpkin, chocolate or anything really)
1 Can of Pumpkin
Mix together and bake according to the directions on the box. Thanks Michelle!

Free Treat Bag, Funlight, and Brach’s Candy!
CVS will be having a two-day sale Sunday October 19th and Monday October 20th where you can get two free Pumpkin Pails, Funlights, and 10 oz. bags of Brach’s fall candy after ECBs!
Homemade Halloween Costumes:
RobinsFYI.com has tons of great costume ideas that can be made from stuff lying around your house and bought from a thrift, dollar, or craft store. Costume ideas include all the old favorites like ghost, hippie, and scarecrow plus new ideas like the American tourist and bag of jelly beans.
Great cheap costume idea for littler ones:
Sleeper PJ’s become costumes very easily. Add a cotton tail and floppy ears: bunny. Long tail and upright ears, draw whiskers on cheeks: kitty. Those headband ears are pretty cheap. Safety pins make it all temporary, just unpin and ready for bed. With them all so young, a herd of colored bunnies would be cute coming up the walk. From Maggie on About.com

At least that is what my brother in law said last night. I guess my sister in law was talking to a few moms at her children’s school about saving money when somebody brought up The Freebie Blogger! I know that people from all over the country visit this site, but to have someone talk about me, and then to have it get back to me is just about the neatest thing ever. So I want to thank that person in Illinois, whoever you are, for making my month! And thank you to everyone else who visits, leaves comments, sends me deals, and links to my site. It really means the world to me!

My day got off to a bad start this morning. Matt and I decided to stay home as opposed to going to a museum for free, since we have so much yard work to get done. I wanted to quickly get my posts put up but this computer was giving me a hard time and I got behind. But, my day turned around when Matt got the mail.
I finally received the Proctor and Gamble coupons for doing that survey a while back. The coupons are the same thing we will be getting in the paper tomorrow, but the more the better I always say. Having two $1 off Frebreze Air Effects coupons will be great for the Walgreens deal that starts tomorrow. I also got my $5 Chevron gas card, which brings my free gas total to $80 for the year. A new Home Made Simple coupon book came (sign up here) and it has another coupon for a free bottle of Cascade Crystal Clear. While I’m on the subject, I want to mention that last weekend I received a Rewards Gold magazine subscription (I know I few of you were questioning whether they would really come).

I guess that anyone who reads this blog would just assume that I was cheap, but really, I am a spender at heart. I have always had a problem with impulse buying. For a short time I constantly had a pile of returns to make, things I had felt guilty about purchasing after the fact. I have finally put an end to my buyer’s remorse, mostly because of the fact that there is less money to be spent in general and now I spend all my free time blogging (not shopping).
But anyways …
Earlier this week Matt and I went to the county fair. Our main reason for going was to get some of that wonderfully bad for you but oh so delicious fair food. I got my usual lemonade … or what I thought was a lemonade. It turned out to be a bitter, slightly chemical tasting lemon slush. Now, the sign did say lemon slush but there were two types of glasses on the counter, one of which said lemonade (the same glasses that regular lemonade is always in). We sat there and pondered for a minute, “Could we really return a food item at the fair?” My husband decided to give it a try, after all, this was no cheap lemonade lemon slush and neither of us was going to drink it. The man put up a fight saying that we should have read the sign but he gave in when he couldn’t argue the fact that it tasted like crap.
So there, it has been done. I have now sealed my fate as a cheap person by making a return to a lemonade stand. =)

Purina Cat chow is donating $175,000 to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation. For every person who completes their breast cancer awareness questions they will donate an additonal $1 up to $50,000. What a great way to spend a few free minutes of your time.

My site was down again last night, bringing my total downtime for the month to 8 hours. On top of that, when it is up it runs so slowly. I just can’t take it anymore. I had said earlier that I was going to wait until my year with Startlogic was up before I switched, but I have now changed my mind. I apologize if you were trying to visit last night and couldn’t. I hope to have this all taken care of very soon. Again I ask the question: Does anyone have a great web host that they can recommend?

When I first started living on my own I hated getting mail. There would just be bill after bill, but I would open each one hoping that they were sending ME a check (this was a strange fantasy I had back when I was broke). That never happened, but what I get in the mail now comes close to my fantasy.
Yesterday I finally received my $75 Shell Gas Card from the Sears/Dockers promotion along with a $10 off $50 coupon for Sears men’s apparel. I also got my $5 Sears gift card from AdPerk, a coupon for $10 off a salon retail purchase of $10 or more from JCPenney, and coupon for a free pouch of Uncle Ben’s Ready Rice.
Oh, and thanks to the Rite Aid rebate program, now someone IS sending me checks!

I wanted to start by telling you that I have not yet been paid by DollarSurveys.net. MaryAnne commented that she had been paid several times but from what I’ve been reading online it seems pretty sporadic.
You can now get a $1 Smart Start printable coupon to use with the Kellogg’s cereal rebate. The $1 Frosted Mini Wheats coupon is still available there also.
There was a $0.55 Zout coupon in the 8/10 SS that you can use the Zout rebate.

Thanks so much to Thriftiness Becomes Us for giving me my very first blog award!

There are many great blogs I have found through writing my blog which makes it very difficult to pick who to give this award to. When I first started blogging visitors were scarce and comments were few and far between. When I actually got a comment it felt like the best day of my life. I want to nominate those first few bloggers that made my day and also write great blogs!
The Fabulous Destiny Of Arika
Full Time In New Mexico
How I Save Money
Penny Pinching Parent
The Passive Dad
Here are the rules for passing on this award:
1. Put the logo on your blog.
2. Add a link to the person who awarded it to you.
3. Nominate at least 5 other blogs.
4. Add links to these blogs on your blog.
- Don’t forget this step. This is great free advertising!
5. Leave a message for your nominee on their blog.
Please visit all these fine blogs! They all deserve recognition!

I want to apologize for my website being down again yesterday afternoon. It goes down a few times each month, so I’m sure it will happen again soon. I really appreciate everything my web host (Start Logic) did for me when my site was hacked (though their unwillingness to let me upgrade WordPress made the job easy for the hackers). However, the issue of my site going down as often as it does is just unacceptable. I paid for a year and still have 8 months left, but I will be looking for a new host. Does anyone have a web host that they are happy with and is not too expensive?

If you were here yesterday you know that my site was hacked into. Thankfully we got it back, though since I had to download a new version of WordPress and upload a fresh copy of my theme I do have some work to get it back to normal.
I know that nothing will completely protect you from this happening, but if you are a WordPress user, always having the newest version installed will make it less likely. If you ever find yourself in the same situation as me check out this post. I found it very helpful.
Thank you all for coming back again today! I will have new posts up later in the day so be sure to stop back.

I like to shop online, but I love shopping online when I get a discount. Every time I’m on the checkout page I see the box that reads “coupon code” or “enter promotional code” and I think to myself “the box wouldn’t be there if there wasn’t a code I could use”. Then the search is on. I will spend about an hour looking and only part of the time would I find a code that actually worked or hadn’t already expired.
Now I just go straight to FindSavings.com. They have tons of online shopping codes good for free or discounted shipping, money off, and percents off. They have codes for all the places I shop like Overstock, Target, Sephora, Buy.com and more. Thankfully the site is searchable by product, store, or coupon type so it is easy to find what I want.
The best feature of FindSavings.com are the individual store pages. Not only can you view the current coupons for a particular store but you can also subscribe to the RSS feed. So let’s say your want take a vacation but are waiting for a great deal. Just subscribe to the Expedia RSS feed and be updated when there are new deals!
What you are waiting for? Go check them out!

A few weeks ago I got a message that read “Dude, your Technorati stats are bad.” Now I had not been paying much attention to Technorati, mostly because their site loads too slowly and I just don’t have the patience for that, but that comment has given me a complex. Now I am obsessing, checking back everyday to see if things change. If you share my insecurities just favorite my site and I will favorite you back. Then we can all feel better about ourselves. If you don’t have a blog that is okay too, you will just have to sign up to the site. Thanks!
And by the way, I’m not a dude.

There is going to be a $1 off Dawn coupon in this Sunday’s PG insert to use with the Dawn Direct Foam satisfaction guarantee.
I Heart CVS is reporting that CVS brand cleansing towelettes 15 ct. (UPC #050428122396) are printing out $2.99 ECBs so they would end up being free. Also, Coppertone face sticks (UCP #041100054586) and Chapsticks are working towards the Coppertone deal to make it a moneymaker. Click here for this week’s CVS Deals and here for deals good the month of July.
Hallmark is now marking their card samples “sample”. I guess they caught on to what people were doing.
