Rlm - The SS coupon above came in the Sunday paper. I will also list a date in case you keep your insert coupons in order by date. FF mean that the coupon can be printed using a Firefox browser. IE coupons can be printed if you are using Internet Explorer.

Complainers: get real! The Walgreens deals are great! There are few opportunities to get things you really need and use (toothpaste, deodorant)FREE! I was in my local Walgreens last night and again, today, taking advantage of these offers. I'm stocking up. If I have to wait five minutes while the personnel get it right, I don't mind. The stuff is FREE!

I cannot figure out how to use/get all the discounts (SS,FF). I googled SS or smart source and did not find the coupons. Help. I like as much of a discount as I can get. Maybe a coupon pro can help us newbies.

I'm loving Walgreens and have the best, helpful employees here in Fremont. I didn't understand the rules my first trip in but they were so considerate and really "babied" me through it. I stop there more than once a week (didn't know there were any limits on how many times we go in) and usually look for different items that weren't there before the truck comes in. I also go in sometimes because I know Denice is working because she is such a delight to work with. The parking lot is usually crowded here in Fremont - not because they bend the rules - but because their customer service is top rate and they will do what they can to help out. Yes, understanding the guidelines is confusing. The other day a manufacturer's coupon and store coupon wouldn't work together on the same item when it always has in the past but oh well, the deals were great regardless. I appreciate Walgreens.

I agree with you, Wendi. There is nothing unethical in the post above and I am really shocked by the response from "Walgreen Employee" (by the way...your store has an "s" at the end of it's name). I think corporate would be really unhappy to know that one of thier "employees" wrote such a rude and accusatory response to something that is so beneficial to it's customers. Sites like this one, help educate the consumers in the appropriate ways to use coupons, and many unethical practices or just plain confusion regarding rules, are often clarified through these responses in posts. I would hope that when you have a bad day at your job, you would find a better way to vent than to complain on a site like this. People don't complain to get more free stuff - they complain to get better customer service. Judging by your responses here, it seems they are justified in thier claims. No one here is asking anyone to bend the rules. If that's a problem at your store, then you should take it up with your cashiers - not the people who come together on this site to educate and help others get the most for their money in a fun and ethical way.

I have been in Walgreens when multiple explanations have been created as t why a coupon wouldn't work and then it turned out the register was malfunctioning. I have had manager admit they don't understand the policy either. Some of us just want to follow the rules if we could just figure out what they are! Why should store managers be under this constant stress of dealing with confusion!

I understand your point of view, fortunatly you are of the few that doesnt give our cashiers a hard time. Thank you for that. However, we do have a corporate coupon policy that all stores try to follow, some stores will tend to "bend" the policy so as not to piss off half of the customers that come into the store, unfortunatly because of that, this creates a view that not all stores are on the same page. The truth is is that some stores get ripped off far more than others and they have simply had enough and have to go back to the corporate policy which is much more tight than at most store levels. At my particular store we have 3 customers who come in atleast twice a week to prey on any non-seasoned new employee and continuously berate the other employees and continuously call and complain through the #800 for the sole purpose of getting MORE "free" stuff. And as a manager I KNOW who those people are and we're not stupid, we know how the game works and if you were in my shoes, why would I go out of my way to "bend" the coupon policy for them?

Well, I don't think there is anything unethical in the post above. I think that the problems that most people have with Walgreens is that the rules are not the same at every store. Every store employee, manager or customer service rep I've talked to has always told me something different on what will and won't be accepted. I think if Walgreens could just come out with a coupon policy that EVERY store followed there would be a lot less complaining. I am not a complainer and I won't yell at the cashier if my coupon is not accepted, but I no longer shop there due to the problems I've had using legitimate coupons.

Ok, let me settle some things for you people who come into walgreens and complain about having to pay 76 cents for $65 worth of product. Most of the people who use this site (among others) are arrogant and rude. Us walgreen employees do not care how many coupons you use, we get reimbursed from the manufacturer, however there are RULES that go along with it in order for us TO get reimbursed. We do our best to help you out in anyway we can, do you think we LIKE getting yelled at 4 times every day by a "coupon lady", no. Get over yourselves, NO coupon, when scanned correctly will pay for your taxes, get over it, thats part of life, we pay taxes. Also, when you use store coupons, we do not get reimbursed, that comes right off the top. So when you use 2 store coupons, a RR and a manufacturer coupon and expect $5 back on top of your "free" item, yes we get a little "grumpy" because its UNETHICAL!
